• The Islay.com website contains lots of information and good links to other websites, though some of it appears to be written exclusively in German.
• Armin Grewe has put together an excellent website, which covers a variety of subjects such as Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his travels in Scotland, England and Germany. The pages about Islay are a wealth of useful information, and also contain lots of beautiful pictures of the island.
• Jeremy Hastings runs birdwatching tours on Islay, and his website features an exhaustive list of birds that can be found there, along with the latest birding news.

Islay Distilleries

A number of the distilleries on the island have their own websites, listed below. If you plan on visiting for a tour of the distillery, it's advisable to book in advance.

• Ardbeg - click here to skip the annoying introduction page.
• Bowmore - make sure that you switch off the audio!
• Bruichladdich, who also have an excellent collection of web cameras, which recently managed to feature in the news!
• Laphroaig - you need to be over 18 to enter.
• Kilchoman has only recently opened and has just begun production - well worth a visit!
• Isle of Jura - just for completeness and because it's tasty!
